Protica Profect to Relieve Stress

Whitehall, PA (PRWEB) February 06, 2012

Protica has announced that its new protein shot, Profect, can help relieve the side effects of stress. Stress can lead to damage within the body including the breakdown of tissues and the death of cells. Stress can be of many types including physical (eg. strained muscles, spinal problems), and emotional (eg. fear, anxiety, depression). Profect can help people avoid detrimental side effects associated with stress.

Protica is confident that their new protein shot, Profect, can help people deal with some side effects of emotional stress. Emotional Stress can cause a decrease in energy and the protein content in Profect can help provide extra energy to the body. The nutritional requirements for the repair of stressful situations can be greater than normal requirements. Maintaining proper nutrients in the body can be more important in sickness when the appetite can be depressed. Profect?s serving size can help to address these issues. Each serving of Profect contains 25 grams of protein in less than three fluid ounces. This small size can allow a person with little appetite to still obtain essential nutrients.

Profect can also help to address the parallel between stress and starvation. During starvation, the body?s metabolic rate decreases. This is a defense mechanism of the body to conserve energy. Using Profect will supply the body with a large amount of protein that can help increase energy and nutrient leaves and prevent starvation.

When the body is faced with physical stress like inflammation, trauma, infection, or surgery, there can be an increase demand for protein. If a person is not ingesting enough protein to keep up with the body?s needs, the body will start to breakdown muscle tissue for the necessary protein. Profect can help a patient add protein that is required to fuel the healing process.

Stress can also impact the immune system in a negative way. Using Profect can help to keep the immune system strong when dealing with high stress conditions. Inflammations can occur after a trauma or infection can the body has an increased need for protein in these situations as well. Taking Profect following a trauma or infection can aid the healing process by providing the body with protein.

Protica is confident that their latest product, Profect, will help patients obtain necessary protein that will aid the healing process and provide the body with energy to recover in stress situations including physical and mental stress.

New Education about Occupational Health and Menopausal Dry Eye on the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water

Grants Pass, OR (PRWEB) February 02, 2012

The same steps that prevent or minimize hot flashes will also prevent or minimize menopausal dry eye.

Sharon Kleyne, host of the Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water syndicated radio talk show, recently interviewed Laurie Barber, MD, Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas and a leading authority on dry eye syndrome and menopause. The discussion focused on occupational health, truck driving, motorcycles, computers and, of course, prevention of menopausal dry eye.

An important Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water objective is education regarding the growing worldwide crisis in dry eye disease. Untreated dry eye, according to Sharon Kleyne, can lead to corneal ulceration, visual impairment and blindness. In the United States, dry eye symptoms are the number one complaint that ophthalmologists hear from patients,

Sharon Kleyne asked Dr. Barber about eye care and occupational health, noting that employers are usually unaware of the impact on tear film and vision of forced-air heating and cooling, office computers, etc. Dr. Barber observed that this is an area where education could be very helpful. She noted that human nature is to take one’s vision for granted – until something bad happens.

In response to Sharon Kleyne’s question about the importance of sleep and rest in preventing or minimizing dry eye, Dr. Barber noted that sleep and rest are essential to eye health. It is important, she stated, to truly rest your eyes at night, and allow them to recover, which means (among other things) not wearing contact lenses to bed. The tear film restores itself while you sleep – the glands recharge, the pH drops, etc.

Sharon asked about patients with eye-stressing occupations or lifestyles, such as truck drivers or motorcycle riders. According to Dr. Barber, those occupations all involve intense concentration or staring and as a result, the person often forgets to blink often enough, which increases the rate of tear film moisture (water) evaporation. The best way to prevent or minimize occupational dry eye is to use eye protection such as goggles or a face shield. Pre-treatment with a product such as eye drops or Nature’s Tears EyeMist before motorcycling, can also be helpful.

Regarding computers, they also involve staring that decreases the blink rate. Dr. Barber suggests frequent breaks to rest your eyes, making sure there isn’t a vent blowing on you, and positioning yourself to look slightly down on the computer screen.

The interview concluded with a lengthy discussion of menopausal dry eye. Dr. Barber recommended treating menopausal dry eye as you would hot flashes: Get sufficient exercise, drink lots of water, and try to stay in a cool place and wear layered clothing so you can cool yourself off.

Sharon noted that exercise reduces stress and promotes better functioning of all body systems. However, exercise can be dehydrating. Dr. Barber agreed and observed that for some women approaching menopause, moderate daily exercise would probably suffice. She stressed that anyone training for a marathon, no matter what their age or gender, should be extremely meticulous about hydration and water intake. Swimmers should be careful of chlorine exposure.

This Year’s Top Ten Valentine?s Day Gift Ideas from Big Fat Balloons

(PRWEB UK) 1 February 2012

With February 14th fast approaching, card shops and store fronts are rapidly turning red with heart-shaped reminders of the most romantic day of the year.

But deciding on a Valentine’s gift to impress a loved one isn?t always easy, which is why Big Fat Balloons, the balloons, teddy bears and gifts store, has put together its top ten gift ideas for Valentine?s Day. Sophie Baxter, managing director said:

?Valentine?s Day comes with a great deal of expectation and stress. If you haven?t been together very long, finding an appropriate gift can be difficult, while if you?re married or in a long-term relationship, thinking up new ideas to impress your spouse or partner can sometimes feel like a chore.”

?While not all our ideas are suitable for all couples, we?ve tried to offer gift ideas that vary from inexpensive to expensive, and from friendly to more intimate.?

1 – Jewellery

Any jewellery is a welcome gift, but to be in the number one spot, it has to be the ultimate item of jewellery for Valentine?s Day – the diamond engagement ring. After all, valentine’s day will be the perfect opportunity for those who are considering proposing to their girlfriend (or boyfriend, for that matter).

2 – A romantic weekend in Paris

Or a romantic weekend anywhere for that matter! A trip to New York, Prague, London or a secluded place in the country would be equally welcome. It?s getting away together that really matters. It is worth remembering that the little extra touches such as flowers, Valentine’s balloons, chocolates or champagne in the room on arrival, will make all the difference.

3 – An experience day for two

An experience day for two can be a great surprise. “Book something that they?ve always wanted to do, such as drive a Ferrari or jump out of a plane. While the activities might not be romantic; the fact that you?ve made their dream come true, certainly is,” comments Sophie Baxter from Big Fat Balloons.

5 – A romantic meal at your favourite restaurant

No Valentine?s Day gift list would be complete without a romantic meal at a favourite restaurant. But it?s the little touches that can make this gift extra-special. It is beat to book well in advance and request a table in a secluded corner. A bottle of their favourite wine or some champagne will make the evening more exciting.

6 – Champagne and chocolates

While not the most original idea, champagne and Belgian chocolates are still a welcome gift. Presentation is key. Having them delivered to to the recipient home or work or making sure they are wrapped beautifully will make your Valentine’s gift feel more special.

7 – A huge bouquet of flowers

It’s easy to add a twist to this traditional Valentine?s gift by ordering the recipient’s favourite flowers and colours. As every month has a special flower, do some research and include the flower that relates to his or her birthday in the bouquet.

8 – A teddy bear

Everyone needs a big cuddle from time to time, no matter their age. Those who can’t give a cuddle in person on Valentine’s Day, can send a teddy bear to give their loved one a big hug. Sophie Baxter, Director at Big Fat Balloons explains “Teddy bears are a huge hit at this time of the year. Me to You teddy bears – with love you messages are especially popular as customers can find a bear to suit most recipients.”.

9 – An evening to yourself

Couples with children often find the most romantic thing they can do is spend time alone together. Arranging for a relative or friend to have the kids overnight and enjoying an evening together can make for a special Valentine’s Day.

Even for those who don?t have children, an evening in can be equally romantic. They could cook a special meal for the two or for a complete break, order a takeaway.

10 – A movie night in

Valentine?s Day doesn?t have to mean going out and spending lots of money; why not stay in and have an intimate date for two. A few red and white glow in the dark illoom balloons will be ideal to create a romantic atmosphere. Instead of going out to the cinema, why not recreate a movie theatre at home with a romantic film and snuggle up together in your very own back row,n.

10 – A romantic walk

Weather dependent, a walk can be a great way to spend time together with no distractions other than the beauty of the surroundings (and each other!).

It’s worth remembering that on Valentine?s Day, it?s the thought that counts. So the most important thing this Valentine?s Day, is for couples to remember to let each other know how much they love the other!

Leading, Internet Shoe Brand Debuts Game-Changing Insole Optimized for Women’s Feet

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) January 31, 2012

KURU Footwear, a direct to consumer shoe brand, recently debuted an innovative insole that offers wearer’s superior support for their feet. This sockliner insole was designed specifically with women in mind. It is the first to combine a varus wedge seamlessly integrated with the arch and then placed on top of the company’s KuruSole orthotic technology. The company believes the combined support of these two technologies is unmatched by other shoe brands.

The sockliner of a shoe is the foam insole placed inside a shoe and is usually removable. Most shoe brands use flimsy foams that may feel good initially, but quickly lose support and flatten over time. In fact, most seasoned runners regularly replace the factory insole with costly aftermarket insoles for their running shoes. KURU wanted to offer their customers something that would last as long as the shoes themselves.

To begin, the company worked with a medical advisory team which consists of podiatrists, physical therapists and pedorthists to design an insole optimized for both men and women. Due to a wider pelvis, women have a greater ‘Q’ Angle which is thought to create added stress on the lower leg joints. This increased stress is suspected to make women more susceptible to injury.

Knowing that their innovative KuruSole orthotic technology was already helping thousands of women, the brand wanted to take it one step further with their new sockliner insole. The insole includes a varus wedge, which places a woman’s foot in a more natural position. This varus wedge seamlessly transitions into the arch support of the insole. In addition, the company uses a space-age, high grade foam that absorbs moisture, provides superior cushion, and holds its shape and support for the life of the product.

A quick perusal of the reviews on the company’s website suggests this new sockliner is resonating with women. Carol wrote, “As soon as I put these shoes on I could feel the difference and I felt like Cinderella–a perfect fit. Totally unbelievable with all the shoe brands available only one is making shoes for the real human foot.”

Currently this new sockliner is available exclusively Chicane and Aalto Chukka styles. However, the company plans on rolling out this new insole across their complete product range. To view all of the company’s comfort shoes range, visit: http://www.kurufootwear.com
