Randolph YMCA Holds World?s First H2O Bootcamp, Offers Pain-Free Underwater Treadmill Water Workouts

Middletown, PA (PRWEB) January 16, 2012

Resolving to trim the fat in 2012? Then ?weight? no more!

YMCAs across the nation can now offer members a fast, fun, pain-free workout that blasts away unwanted pounds and inches without creating fatigue or causing undue joint stress? on a HydroWorx underwater treadmill.

To formerly introduce this revolutionary workout trend that many athletes, coaches and fitness gurus believe will be the future of fitness, the Randolph YMCA, West Morris, New Jersey, is hosting a world-exclusive, invite-only H2O bootcamp on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

The Randolph YMCA invested in HydroWorx X80 underwater treadmill and jet units for their facility in October 2011. After initiating staff members on the equipment, the YMCA opened the innovative HydroWorx X80s to the general membership as part of their honors-winning UH2O (?underwater?) gym. Since then, the underwater treadmills have become enormously popular among men and women of varying ages and fitness levels, and an increase in community interest and membership in the YMCA has been observed.

Marc, 53, a Randolph YMCA member, raves about the HydroWorx underwater treadmill, claiming that it?s helped him rehabilitate without pain, or risk of added injury or falls, after his six knee surgeries. ?I found that I could run again,? he says. ?This Christmas season, I was carrying boxes from the basement, which I couldn?t do before. The ability to move and not worry about where I?m standing is a big deal.?

Throughout the exclusive bootcamp event, renowned director of sports medicine at the University of Kansas, Murphy Grant, will offer 45-minute sessions unlike any other fitness classes available at YMCAs or fitness centers. Attendees will be given the opportunity to discover why hundreds of sports teams, elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts, weekend warriors and medical professionals have turned to underwater treadmill training to get fit, stay lean and be healthy? without pain.

Kathy Fisher, aquatics director, Randolph YMCA, has found the HydroWorx X80s to be an exceptional investment in her facility?s water workout and rehabilitation offerings. She urges other similar health-related organizations to look into HydroWorx?s products. ?Because this is an industry trend, and because the option is out there? they [YMCA facilities] need to take advantage of the X80 if they want to remain cutting edge.?

Fisher also talks about the response she?s gotten from the staff as well as the general population at the Randolph YMCA. ?Everybody that got on it loved it. So you have the guy that?s working out like a maniac and says he?s getting an unbelievable workout? [and] you?ve got the disabled person that can?t walk who?s running and now has a whole new lease on life. It?s just amazing to see! When people get on it, they love it, and that?s the most important thing. It?s such an ?easy sell? once you get them on it!?

Bill Lamia, CEO, Randolph YMCA, agrees with Fisher?s observations. ?I?ve seen a lot of different equipment in this industry, and, quite honestly, not many items stand out to me? but this one did. It?s suitable for so many age groups, from athletes to disabled individuals.?

Lamia feels that the inclusion of the HydroWorx underwater treadmills into their facility dovetails nicely with the YMCA?s mission. ?The goal of ?The Y? in general is to make a difference in people?s lives and the communities,? he explains. ?I think this [the X80] fits perfectly in YMCAs? Members will stay, and we will get new members.?

Anson Flake, CEO and co-founder, HydroWorx, is thrilled that the Randolph YMCA has taken this step to provide the X80s to their membership. ?The power of water is truly remarkable. For over a decade, we?ve seen HydroWorx technology change people?s lives. Our technology is remarkably effective in providing a pain-free exercise alternative, regardless of the natural aging process or medical issues one faces. The beautiful thing about the X80s is that they can drop into any pool and greatly enhance the functionality of the pool. We could not be happier to team up with Bill and Kathy at the Randolph YMCA, as they are true innovators in the aquatic exercise community. ?

Since the late 1990s, HydroWorx?s therapy pools, plunge pools and underwater treadmills have helped thousands of individuals stay fit, get healthy and recover from injuries, including three-time New York City Marathon winner Alberto Salazar. As Salazar has previously stated in interviews: ?The HydroWorx unit is one of the most valuable pieces of equipment I use? This is the closest thing to running outside on the land that there is.?
